Many years ago a disciple of Jesus named Thomas was called
upon to go to India to do the work of his Lord. At the same
time he was commissioned by King Gundaphorus to build a new
palace for his Indian kingdom. How Thomas succeeded in doing
two things at once is told in this lively tale adapted by
Susan Summers from the Apocryphal New Testament. Thomas builds
the palace, but not where the king expected to find it. The
large format, full colour book for ages 4-11 is superbly illustrated
by Jacqueline Sinclair and will provide a lively, entertaining
book for a parent to read to a child, or for a child to read
alone.
Susan Summers, a retired teacher, is a professional storyteller
who tours schools with her exciting and unusual tales, many
of them related to Christian themes.
